Bytsolv has a high-quality product team. We build an enterprise software suite in-house—that’s our product. Since the founders started the business as a service company, Bytsolv also built a handful of apps for customers. When we transitioned into a product company, we still retained an interest in consulting for other product companies to help them build their products. Therefore, we decided not to discontinue this part of the service division. We call it Product Team as a Service (PTaaS).

What is PTaaS?

PTaaS is Bytsolv’s approach to collaborating with the founders and product managers of other product companies in long-term partnerships (ideally one year) to build their products. Our primary focus is to lay a strong foundation and ship the v1 of their product.

The closest stakeholders in this engagement are Bytsolv’s product team and the product company’s founder or product manager.

Outcome: We ship v1 of the product.

How does it work?

Bytsolv has exceptional product teams, and one of these teams functions as PTaaS. This team is responsible for product design, product management, engineering, and shipping the product.

We generally work on projects that excite us and has a long-term collaboration. Occasionally, there are exclusions.

PTaaS Example

Smile Search is a dental clinic search engine primarily catering to the Australian market. Think of Justdial but focused on dental clinics.

This product idea came from Mr. Rowayne and his team. Rowayne asked if we could work on this over the long term. It was a natural fit for PTaaS, and we agreed.

We collaborated with him, starting with a well-progressed product design process. Our engineers, UI designers, and PM worked together to design, build, and ship the v1 of the product, incorporating frequent feedback from the founder. The result? We shipped smilesearch.com.au.

What makes PTaaS stand out?

PTaaS isn’t just project management or development—it’s a dedicated product team working alongside the founder or product manager to actually build and ship the platform.

Think of it as having your own product team, but operating within a different organization. We handle the heavy lifting, so you can focus more on the product vision!

Team is a deliverable!

In some cases, the product company may wish to discontinue the collaboration after a while. This is often because having the tech team behind the product outside the company can impact future activities, including investments.

We’ve encountered this issue, and our solution is to take on even more responsibility. We hire and build a team to work on your product within your organization, ensuring continuity.

How does it work?

• We hire a new team under your payroll.
• This team collaborates with our product team to ship the product.
• When the engagement ends, you receive both the v1 and a fully equipped team to continue developing the product.

This approach has proven practical and effective for both us and our customers.

What is the cost?

The cost depends on the engagement period and the nature of the product. We’ll work out a mutually agreeable deal. It’s affordable.

How is it going?

PTaaS is progressing as expected. We intentionally limit the number of collaborations to ensure quality and avoid overextending. Currently, we aim to work on a maximum of two collaborations at a time.

It’s coming to an end

PTaaS for Bytsolv is likely to wind down by 2026. As we focus more on being a product company, we may need to shift our attention entirely to our core products. While we’d love to continue PTaaS, we can only focus on a limited number of priorities at a time.

That said, we hope to find a solution to keep PTaaS alive, possibly by teaming up with more exceptional individuals—just like the ones we’ve worked with so far.
